Jonas Grand Barrel Sauna, Ebony.
The Jonas Grand is the barrel we sell most often to buyers who want the whole family in one sit, 2.4m long, seating six comfortably on twin-tier benches, with a panoramic glass end wall that turns the sauna into a garden feature even when it's cold.
The Ebony finish is a properly-executed Shou Sugi Ban charred spruce, flame-treated, brushed, and finished with a matte carbon-black oil. It's not paint. It's not stain. It's timber that will outlast a painted equivalent by decades and looks better as it weathers.
Inside, everything is knot-free western hemlock, the industry benchmark timber for sauna interiors because it doesn't leach resin at temperature, holds its dimension, and stays comfortable to touch even when the air is at 90°C.

Living with it
How it actually works day to day.
The charred exterior is the point of difference. It's a 400-year-old Japanese timber-preservation technique done properly with a controlled propane flame, carbonised to ~2mm depth, wire-brushed, then oiled. The carbon layer is the preservative; it needs no repainting.
The barrel shape is not decorative. The curved roof means condensation runs down the walls instead of dripping on your head, and the compact air volume means the Harvia heats the space in about a third of the time a cube sauna needs.
It runs on a 32A single-phase circuit that most Scottish domestic properties can provide with a subboard, or on 3-phase where available. We include the electrical routing plan in our quote and coordinate with your electrician, no vague 'you'll need to sort that.'
