Jonas Grand Barrel Sauna, Teak.
The Jonas Grand in teak-oiled thermowood is the traditional expression of a premium Nordic barrel, warm honey-toned exterior, panoramic glass end wall, twin-tier hemlock benches inside, and comfortable six-person capacity.
The exterior is thermally-modified spruce finished with a Danish teak oil that saturates the surface, feeds the fibres, and gives the warm amber tone you see on old traditional saunas at Finnish lakesides. It's a finish that improves with age, not one that starts pristine and slowly disappoints.
The same Harvia 9kW electric heater, the same knot-free hemlock interior, and the same 10-year structural warranty as the Ebony spec, the only meaningful difference is the exterior colour and the oil-refresh schedule.

Living with it
How it actually works day to day.
Teak oil is a saturating finish, it soaks into the timber rather than sitting on the surface, so it can't peel. Owners who want to keep the honey tone re-oil every two seasons; those happy to let the timber silver leave it and let Scottish weather do its work.
The barrel form heats fast for the same reason the ebony version does, compact air volume, curved ceiling that circulates heat evenly, and no cold corners to fight.
Inside there is no visible difference from the ebony spec: same twin-tier hemlock benches, same Harvia heater, same glass front. The choice between ebony and teak is entirely about the look from the house.
