Modular Saunas
Tauras Grand Ebony. The XL modular flagship.
Our largest modular sauna, ebony-clad, 6–8 person capacity, twin-tier bench, corner glass, the design brief for spa-scale garden installations.
Overview
Tauras Grand Ebony Modular Sauna.
The Tauras Grand Ebony is the largest sauna in our modular range, a 3.5m long, 2.6m wide cube in Shou Sugi Ban charred spruce, with twin-tier hemlock benches, a corner-glass wall, and a 12kW Harvia heater running on 3-phase.
It's the specification for spa-scale garden installations, the sauna paired with a hot tub, plunge pool and shower deck as part of a fully-considered outdoor bathing zone.
Everything is scaled up: 100mm rockwool insulation, 40mm interior benches instead of the standard 32mm, thicker cladding, heavier structural framing, and a heater that puts real Scandinavian-level heat into a room that big.

Key features
What makes it different.
6–8 person capacity
Twin-tier hemlock benches on two walls. Genuinely fits six adults with room to lie down; eight socially.
Corner-glass wall
Full-height toughened glass on two adjacent walls, the room feels like a garden pavilion, not a shed.
Harvia 12kW heater
Sized for the internal volume, 30-minute warm-up in a room this size is only possible with proper power.
Shou Sugi Ban ebony cladding
The largest single Shou Sugi Ban surface we install, the whole thing reads as a black architectural volume.
Premium interior spec
40mm hemlock benches (vs standard 32mm), thicker floor duckboards, integrated backrests.
Design service included
Every Tauras Grand comes with a bespoke design consultation to tailor bench layout and glass positioning.

Living with it
How it actually works day to day.
This is a genuinely different scale of sauna. The corner glass changes how the room feels, you sit at 90°C looking out at planted garden on two sides, and the room stops feeling like a small box and starts feeling like a proper bathing pavilion.
It needs 3-phase power. A 12kW heater on single-phase would draw 55A continuously, outside what a domestic 32A circuit can sustain. This isn't a limitation, it's how a room this size needs to be specified. We coordinate with your electrician at survey.
The design consultation matters. On a room this size, whether the corner glass faces east (for morning light) or west (for evening) transforms the experience, and whether the twin-tier bench runs along one wall or wraps two makes a real difference to capacity. We work through this with you at drawing stage.

Yes. A 12kW heater on single-phase would need a dedicated 55A circuit, which is outside domestic consumer-unit capacity. If your property has 3-phase (common in rural, farm and new-build settings) it's straightforward. If not, we can spec a Tauras Grand with a 9kW heater on 32A single-phase, with a slightly longer heat-up.
