Practical timber outdoor buildings, the workhorses of a garden. Sheds for tools, bikes and mowers; summerhouses for a bit of quiet space at the top of the garden; and garages for cars, workshops or covered storage.
Homeowners who need storage that doesn't require a mortgage, gardeners wanting a proper workshop base, and anyone tired of the cheap flat-pack unit that fell over in the last high wind.
When the current shed is falling apart, when the garage is full and the car lives on the drive, or when a summerhouse would turn a quiet corner of the garden into somewhere you'd actually sit.
A properly-installed timber building on a prepared base lasts 20 years. A cheap unit dropped on an uneven slab typically lasts three. The unit itself is a small part of the total cost, the base and install are where most of the longevity comes from.
Base price is building supply and installation. Power and electrics are optional and quoted separately.

Outdoor buildings sit outside in Scottish weather for 20+ years. The mistakes below are the ones we're most often called in to fix.
Sheds on uneven bases
A shed dropped on unprepared ground twists, doors bind, roofs sag and the whole unit lifts in high winds. Two winters and it's firewood.
Cheap felt roofs
Standard-issue felt roofs perforate, lift and leak within a couple of years. A small upgrade at install stage is a fraction of the cost of stripping and re-covering later.
No thought to security
A £2,000 mountain bike behind a hollow-core plywood door with a padlock hasp attached with tacks isn't secure. Storage buildings need to be treated as security items, not just weather covers.

Sheds
Standard sheds start from around £640. Sizes commonly range from small 6×4 tool sheds up to workshop-sized 12×10 units. Construction is tongue-and-groove timber with felt or upgraded shingle roofing.
For higher-value contents we recommend heavier-gauge cladding, upgraded door hardware and a proper hasp-and-staple bolted through, not screwed to, a solid door.
Summerhouses
Summerhouses sit between a shed and a garden room. They have glazing, sometimes double doors, and are designed to be sat in rather than just stored in. They are typically not insulated for winter use, for genuinely year-round use, our garden rooms are the right answer.
Popular sizes are 8×6 up to 12×10 with a covered veranda for a couple of chairs and a table.
Garages
Single, double and workshop-style timber garages, supplied and installed. Standard options include up-and-over or side-hinged doors, personnel doors, windows for workshop use and roof overhangs for weather protection.
Garages need a heavier base than a shed, typically a reinforced concrete pad with the correct slope for drainage. Base spec is priced with the building.
Roofs, doors & security
Standard sheds ship with felt roofs. Upgraded shingle or EPDM roofs last significantly longer and are a small proportion of overall cost.
For anything storing bikes, tools or equipment worth more than a few hundred pounds, we specify solid doors, hasps bolted through the frame, and, where required, steel liners on the door.
Bases & groundworks
Every install starts with a prepared base. Depending on the building this is a paved slab, a reinforced concrete pad, or a raised timber platform.
We don't install onto existing bases we haven't inspected. If your current base is out of level or the wrong size, we'll quote to replace it as part of the job, because installing onto a bad base is a false economy.
Electrics & optional extras
Power, lighting and heating are optional and quoted separately. Common add-ons include a single 240V socket circuit, LED strip lighting, and an external outdoor-rated socket.
For workshop use we can specify a heavier-gauge power supply, multiple sockets and an outdoor lighting point.
